The question we get most. Short answer: if it has MagSafe it snaps on, and everything else works with the plate in the box.
iPhone with MagSafe? It snaps straight on. Android or an older iPhone? Stick on one of the included magnetic plates and you get the same lock.
Does it work with my phone?
+
Every iPhone with MagSafe mounts directly to the magnetic head. No clamping, no adjusting.
Android phones and older iPhones work too. Your order includes adhesive magnetic plates. Stick one on the back of your phone or case, and it locks on just as firmly.
Does it work through a phone case?
+
With a MagSafe case, yes. With a thin non-MagSafe case, usually yes, but the pull is weaker.
With a thick or rugged case, the magnet has too much material to grip through. Stick a magnetic plate on the outside of the case and the problem is solved.
Will my phone stay put during a full swing?
+
That is the whole point of the magnetic lock. Customers filming full-speed swings with an iPhone Pro Max report no slipping and no drooping mid-session.
Two things help: mount the phone before you extend the shaft, and make sure the base is planted on firm ground.
Can I mount an action camera or a GoPro?
+
The stand is built around a phone. If your action camera has a magnetic mount or you add a magnetic plate to it, it will hold fine, since these cameras are lighter than a phone.
Tablets are a different story. An iPad is far heavier than the head is designed for and we do not recommend it.
Does the magnet get weaker over time?
+
No. The magnets do not wear out with use. If the grip ever feels weaker, it is almost always dirt or grass on the contact surface. Wipe both sides clean and the hold comes back.
Using the Stand
Setup, surfaces, camera angles and what actually happens when you take it out on the course.
How long does setup take?
+
About 10 seconds. Plant the base, pull the shaft to the height you want, snap your phone on, hit record. There are no screws or clamps to fiddle with.
Which surfaces does it work on?
+
Both bases are in the box. Use the ground spike for grass, rough and tee boxes, and screw on the tripod base for driving range mats, cart paths, indoor bays and simulator setups.
One tip from our customers: on slippery or hard surfaces, make sure the tripod legs sit completely flat rather than at an angle.
Which camera angles can I film?
+
The two that matter for swing analysis: down-the-line and face-on. The head rotates and the shaft extends, so you can get the camera to chest or hip height, which is where most coaching apps want it.
Does it stay stable on a slope or in wind?
+
On grass, the ground spike handles slopes and normal wind without trouble. On hard surfaces with the tripod base, keep the shaft lower in strong wind so there is less leverage on the base.
Can I use it indoors or with a launch monitor?
+
Yes, and plenty of customers do. Use the tripod base and it works in simulator bays and indoor studios, including as a second camera angle alongside a launch monitor.
Does it fit in my golf bag?
+
It collapses down and comes with a carry bag. It lives in a golf bag pocket, a car boot or a suitcase without taking up meaningful space, so it travels with you instead of staying at home.
Can I use it for other sports?
+
Yes. It was designed for golf, but customers use it for tennis, gym sessions, coaching and general content filming. Anywhere you need a phone to stand still outdoors, it does the job.
Can I leave it out in the rain?
+
It handles a wet round and damp grass. Dry it off before packing it away, the same as you would with a club, and it will last a lot longer.
What is in the box?
+
The Golfimprove Stand with its magnetic head, the ground spike base, the tripod base, adhesive magnetic plates for non-MagSafe phones, and a carry bag. Every order also includes our free gift bundle.
Shipping & Tracking
Where your order is, when it lands, and what to do when the tracking goes quiet.
I got a "packed and ready" email but no tracking yet. What now?
+
That email means your order has left our warehouse and is waiting for the carrier to scan it in. The tracking link follows once that scan happens, usually within 1 to 2 business days.
If it has been longer than 3 business days since that email and you still have nothing, email us your order number. We will chase the carrier and come back to you with a real answer, not a holding message.
How long does delivery take?
+
Orders are processed within 1 to 2 business days. After that, delivery takes 2-5 business days within Europe and 5-10 business days for the rest of the world.
Your exact estimate is shown at checkout and repeated in your confirmation email.
My tracking hasn't moved in days. Is my order lost?
+
Almost never. Tracking usually goes quiet during the handover between carriers or while a parcel clears customs, and it can sit still for several days before it updates in one jump.
If nothing has changed for more than 7 days, contact us with your order number and we will open an investigation with the carrier.
Which countries do you ship to?
+
We ship worldwide, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Ireland and across the EU. If your country is not selectable at checkout, message us and we will check whether we can arrange it.
What does shipping cost?
+
Your shipping cost is shown at checkout before you pay, based on your delivery country. No charges appear afterwards.
Will I pay import duties or customs fees?
+
Within the EU, no. Outside the EU, import duties and local taxes are set by your own country and are the buyer's responsibility. Anything owed is collected by the carrier on delivery, not by us.
My order arrived damaged.
+
Send us your order number and photos of both the packaging and the item. We sort it with a replacement or a refund. You do not need to argue your case with us.
Can I cancel or change my order?
+
If it has not shipped yet, yes. Message us as fast as you can with your order number, because we pack quickly.
Once it is with the carrier we cannot pull it back, but you still have your 14-day withdrawal right and our 100-day return policy.
Can I change my delivery address after ordering?
+
Before it ships, yes. Contact us immediately with your order number and the correct address. Once the parcel is in transit the address is locked in the carrier's system.
Returns & Refunds
A premium buying experience means peace of mind after purchase too, with clear legal rights and extra room to decide.
You have a 14-day statutory right of withdrawal for online purchases, and GolfImprove also offers a 100-day return policy on top of that. Your statutory rights always remain unaffected.
What is your return policy?
+
You get 100 days to decide, on top of the 14-day statutory withdrawal right you have under EU consumer law. Take it to the range, use it for a few sessions, and if it is not for you, send it back. Full terms are in our refund policy.
How do I start a return?
+
Message us with your order number and we send you the return instructions and address. Pack it securely and keep your proof of shipment until the refund lands.
Do I need the original packaging?
+
It helps, but it is not a dealbreaker. What matters is that everything is included and that the stand arrives back undamaged, so pack it well.
Can I return it after 14 days?
+
Yes. That is exactly what the 100-day policy is for. Check the refund policy for the conditions that apply.
When do I get my money back?
+
Once your return is approved, we refund within 14 days at the latest, to the payment method you used. We may wait until the product is back with us or you have shown proof of return, whichever comes first.
Who pays return shipping?
+
For a change-of-mind return, the customer covers return shipping unless we say otherwise. If the item is defective, damaged or simply the wrong one, that is on us and we arrange it.
It was a gift. Can it still be returned?
+
Yes. Contact us with the order number or the email address used for the purchase and we will sort out the return with whoever is holding it.
What if my product is defective?
+
Contact us with your order number and a photo or short video of the problem. Under the legal guarantee you are entitled to a product that does what you can reasonably expect, which means repair, replacement or a refund.
Payment & Orders
Checkout options, confirmations and the paperwork that follows your order.
Which payment methods do you accept?
+
Major debit and credit cards, digital wallets like Apple Pay and PayPal, plus local options depending on your country. Everything available to you is shown at checkout.
Can I pay later with Klarna?
+
If Klarna is available in your country it appears as an option at checkout. If you do not see it, it is not available for that order.
Is paying on your site safe?
+
Yes. Payment runs through Shopify's secure checkout and we never see or store your card details. We will never ask you to pay outside the official checkout.
Do I need an account to order?
+
No. Checking out as a guest works fine. An account just makes it easier to find your order and tracking later.
I didn't get an order confirmation.
+
Check your spam and promotions folders first, since that is where it ends up nine times out of ten. Still nothing? Send us the name and email you ordered with and we will confirm it manually.
Will I get an invoice?
+
Your order confirmation email works as your receipt. Need a proper invoice, VAT number included? Ask us and we will send one.
Warranty
Clear coverage information, with commercial support on top of your statutory consumer rights.
Is there a warranty on my stand?
+
Yes. Your purchase is covered by your statutory legal guarantee, which means the product must do what you can reasonably expect from it. Any commercial warranty we offer sits on top of that and never limits your legal rights.
How long does the warranty last?
+
For EU consumers, at least 2 years from delivery, without prejudice to stronger rights under your local law. In the Netherlands the rule is that a product must last as long as you may reasonably expect for that type of item.
What does it cover?
+
Faults and defects that mean the stand does not perform as it should under normal use. It does not cover damage from misuse, accidents, modifications, or wear beyond what is reasonable.
Does the warranty apply abroad?
+
Your statutory rights follow the consumer rules that applied to your purchase. If you ordered as an EU consumer, your EU rights travel with you. Using it abroad and need help? Contact us and we will support you.
Something broke. What now?
+
Send us your order number, a short description and a photo or video. We assess it and come back with the next step, whether that is a repair, a replacement part or a replacement stand.
Contact
We are here before and after your purchase, with practical support and a fair complaints process.
How do I reach you?
+
Through our contact page. Add your order number if your question is about an existing purchase and you will get a straight answer in one reply instead of three.
How fast do you reply?
+
Within one business day in almost every case. We are a small team of golfers, not a call centre, so you get a real person rather than an automated loop.
Do you work with creators?
+
We do. If you make golf content on TikTok or Instagram, message us through the contact page with your handle and we will take a look.
I have a complaint.
+
Tell us first so we get a fair chance to fix it. If we cannot reach a solution together, you may be able to bring the dispute to a relevant body such as the Geschillencommissie, where applicable to your case.
Note that the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025, so complaints can no longer be submitted there.
Still stuck?
Whether it is choosing the right setup, checking an order or arranging a return, send us a message and a real person gets back to you within one business day.
100,000+ golfers filmed themselves, saw what was going wrong, and fixed it.

My fourth tripod, and the last one
I've been through three cheap tripods off Amazon in two years. First one snapped at the hinge. Second one had that spring-loaded phone clamp that slowly loosens until your phone tips forward mid-swing. Third one I just gave up on because setting it up took longer than the actual practice. This is a different category of product. It has real weight to it, the parts are metal, and the magnetic head means there's nothing to clamp or tighten. Yes it costs more. I've now spent less on this one than I did on the three that ended up in a bin.

I'd been propping my phone against my bag for a year
For about a year my setup was leaning my phone against my golf bag, or a range bucket, or once against a bin. Half the videos ended up filming the sky or my feet. The other half fell over. I told myself it was fine. It wasn't fine, I was just used to it. Now I plant this in the ground, snap the phone on, and it films what I actually asked it to film. Sounds basic. It changed how often I bother recording at all, which is the real point.

Took four seconds to see what my coach spent two years saying
First session with this I filmed six swings down-the-line and watched them back in the car park. My coach had been telling me for two years that I come over the top. I'd nodded along every time without really believing it. Watching it back, it was obvious within about four seconds. Not subtle. I'd been doing it my whole golfing life and never once seen it. That's the thing nobody tells you about practice: you can hit 300 balls a week and just get better at doing the wrong thing.

Costs about one lesson
Worked out I pay about £60 a lesson. This cost roughly one lesson. In the three months since, it's shown me things between lessons that I'd otherwise have brought to my coach and paid to be told. It doesn't replace a coach — it makes the lessons you do pay for more useful, because you turn up already knowing what's happening.

Samsung user — works fine, just stick the disc on straight
Bought this knowing I'm on a Samsung and half expecting a hassle. It comes with adhesive magnetic discs. Stuck one on the back of my case, took ten seconds, and it now holds exactly as hard as my mate's iPhone does. If you're on Android and hesitating over the MagSafe thing in the description, don't. Just be a bit deliberate about where you stick the disc — I put mine slightly off-centre first time and the phone sat crooked. Peeled it off and redid it.

Ten seconds is the whole point
The reason my old tripod stopped coming with me wasn't that it was bad, it's that it took two minutes to set up and I couldn't be bothered. This is genuinely about ten seconds. Spike in the ground, pull the shaft up, phone snaps on. That difference sounds trivial and it absolutely is not — it's the difference between filming every session and filming none of them.

40kmh gusts, didn't move
Played in about 40kmh gusts last month, fully expecting to spend the round picking my phone out of the rough. It didn't move once. The ground spike goes properly into the turf, which is why it holds where a normal tripod would just skate across the grass. On the mats indoors I swap to the tripod base — one tip, make sure the legs are sitting completely flat, not splayed at an angle, or it can slide on a smooth floor.

Six months in, twice a week
Six months in, roughly twice a week, mostly outdoors and often in the wet. It lives in my bag permanently. No rust, the magnet is exactly as strong as day one, and the shaft still holds whatever height I set it to. I've been slightly careless with it too — it's been rained on and thrown in a boot more than once. Still fine.

21 to 8 in a season
Went from 21 to 8 over a season. I'm not going to pretend a phone stand did that, I also had lessons and put in the hours. But I'd been stuck at 16 for three years doing exactly the same hours. The difference this season was that I could see what I was actually doing instead of guessing from feel. Feel lies. Video doesn't.

Bought it for my husband, know nothing about golf
Bought this for my husband's birthday knowing almost nothing about golf, just that he films his swing on a phone propped against things and complains about it. Was slightly worried it'd be one of those gifts that gets a polite thank you. He took it to the range the same evening and has used it every week since. Arrived well packaged and looked properly premium unwrapping it, which matters when it's a gift.

I teach with it full time
I teach full time, indoor studio in winter and outdoors the rest of the year. I use this for both. Steady footage without a second person holding a phone, and it's quick enough that I can reposition mid-lesson without breaking the flow. I've had four pupils buy one after seeing it. The only thing I'd add is a proper instruction card in the box — took me a minute to realise the shaft is a slide mechanism and not screw-lock.
